If you are working with an already made image however, you might want to adjust the brightness and contrast settings to make them ideal for poster printing.

o Resolution – Finally, you should always pay attention to the resolution of the poster images you are getting. It is important that you get your images in the highest resolution as possible. 300dpi or higher is the recommended value for poster printing. If this is not the case, you should try to get more original sources or you should try to convert your image effectively to get to that resolution.

2. Develop a good poster layout – Next, to make a great department store like poster, you will want to develop a great and professional looking poster layout. You have two options in making this possible when you are designing these things from home.

o Common examples – The most basic thing that you can do to create a good layout is to just look at the common and popular examples of commercial posters and just use some of their ideas. You should be able to copy some of the more common layout styles and of course some of the best looking effects and techniques. Just make sure of course that you do something original with your work.

o Poster templates – Besides that, you may also want to use poster templates as a foundation for your color poster designs. Poster templates usually have layout guidelines and pre-set configurations that should help you to quickly develop a proper poster layout for printing.

3. Printing just like the professionals – After getting a great image and getting a great layout, all that you need to have to get great color poster printing just like in the department stores is to print your posters just like them. To do this, you will want to hire a professional poster printing company online to do everything for you. Just look for the best one that you can find the Internet and then you should initiate the order. Make sure that you pick the options with the glossy paper materials to get that shiny and professional effect in your color posters.
